The top five have to be: GHS (Boomer, Gyro), Ernie Ball (Beefy Slinky), Dean Markley, Addario, McWill. GHS has to be the best right now for the electric guitar. And if the guitar has GHS Boomer strings, you can be sure that the melodic heavy metal from the speaker will melt your ears. Ernie Ball also has the quality to compare with GHS, but sounds a lot better on Gipson guitars, no one can explain it, but with lots of practice and good hearing anyone can hear the differents. A good way to make your acoustic guitar sound a lot better, is to go to the music shop and buy Dean Markley strings. If to be a little bit cheaper and wanting almost the same sound, La Bella will to the work.
